چکیده

INTRODUCTION Bronchospasm during general anaesthesia can present in isolation or as a component of a more serious underlying pathology such as anaphylaxis. It is characterised by prolonged expiration, wheeze and increased peak airway pressures during Intermittent Positive Pressure Ventilation (IPPV). Untreated it can cause hypoxia, hypotension and increased morbidity and mortality. Suspected bronchospasm during anaesthesia should be assessed and treated promptly. Ongoing management should address the underlying cause.

The risk of bronchospasm in asthmatics undergoing general anaesthesia and/or intravascular administration of radiographic contrast media. physiopatology and clinical/functional evaluation.

It is well known that patients suffering from bronchial asthma undergoing to surgical procedures requiring general anaesthesia (GA) or the administration of water soluble radiographic contrast media (RCM) experience a risk of potentially severe bronchospasm. Anaesthetic management in asthma.

Anaesthetic management in asthmatic patients has been focused on avoiding bronchoconstriction and inducing bronchodilation. However, the definition of asthma has changed over the past decade. Remifentanil and anaesthesia for carcinoid syndrome.

Carcinoid syndrome creates many challenges during anaesthesia, including hypertension, hypotension and bronchospasm. These challenges are less common and less severe after the routine use of octreotide. We describe the use of remifentanil as part of the anaesthetic management of a 67-yr-old man undergoing resection of a carcinoid tumour of the terminal ileum. The combination of perioperative oc...
